The Lane Keeping System Does Not Turn On Or Activate

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC	Description	Fault Trigger Conditions
B13A6:09	Lane Departure Warning (LDW) Switch Input: Component Failure	An on-demand and continuous memory DTC that sets in the SCCM if the SCCM detects a fault on the lane departure warning (LDW) switch input.

Possible Causes 

• Dirty, scratched or obstructed windshield and/or camera
• IPMA overheating condition
• Communication network concern
• Wiring, terminals or connectors
• Lane keeping system switch
• PSCM concern
• SCCM concern
• BCM concern
• CCM concern
• IPC concern
• RCM concern
• PCM concern
• GWM concern
• IPMA concern

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-Checks 

• Certain Lane Keeping System (LKS) concerns can be caused by the IPMA being too cold or overheating due to heavy sunload. Prior to diagnosing a lane keeping system concern, allow the vehicle to warm up or remove the vehicle from direct sunlight. RECHECK after 10 minutes.
• Inspect the Lane Keeping System (LKS) settings in the IPC message center to be sure the concern is not caused by a system setting.
