Main Track Assembly: Installation

NOTE: To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. NOTE: Left hand (LH) shown, right hand (RH) similar.

    Install the main track assembly.

    1. Starting at the rear end of the guide, slowly feed the drive cables into the guide and align the guide screw positions to the holes in the frame.

    Re-engage the left relief tube with the clips to the guide (2 clips on the left side; 3 clips on the right side).

    Install the screws only finger tight at this stage.

  4. Set the guide-to-guide alignment.

    1. Use a measuring device to set the guide alignment. (730.46mm +/- 0.6 mm, at two locations).

    Tighten the screws.

    Torque

    : 5 Nm

    Verify the guide alignment and adjust as needed.

    1. Use a measuring device to set the guide alignment. (730.46mm +/- 0.6 mm, at two locations).

    Starting with the left side, verify the new rear locator assembly on the left side.

    1. Verify that the assembly rear lever is in the vertical position and that the slide pins are engaged in the proper channels.

    Verify that the locator rear inside is properly engaged to the locator rear outside.

  10. Install the new left rear locator assembly.

      Attach the connection bar to the control slide.

    Rotate the rear locator assembly clockwise until the front tab of the rear locator assembly can be installed into the guide.

    Verify that the hard stop feature of the rear locator assembly is fully engaged to the guide.

    Tighten the screws.

    Torque

    : 3.5 Nm

    Install the new left mechanism bracket assembly.

    • Install the mechanism bracket assembly (rear end) into the driving wedge.

    • Continue to slide the mechanism bracket rearward.

    The front lever must engage into the driven slider.

    1. Slide the mechanism bracket rearward so that the slide shoe features enter into their respective guide channels.

    Install both fabric pilot clips from the outer edge seam pockets.

    Insert the fabric guide clips and fabric in to the tracks.

  26. NOTE: The shield is under tension. Hold the cross bar while engaging the pilot clips to prevent the roller from pulling the fabric, clips and cross bar back into the shield bracket assembly.

    1. Pull the shield forward until the fabric pilot clips make contact with drive cable mechanisms.
    2. Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver, spread the clip and then slide the fabric and pilot clips forward and attach the pilot clips to the drive cable mechanisms. Make sure the clips fully seated.

    NOTE: The shield is under tension. Hold the cross bar while engaging the pilot clips to prevent the roller from pulling the fabric, clips and cross bar back into the shield bracket assembly.

    On both sides and at the same time, attach the cross bar to the drive cable mechanisms.

    1. NOTE: This step requires some stretching of the fabric.

      Pull the cross bar away from the drive cable mechanism retaining tabs on both sides until the cross bar aligns with the drive cable mechanism retaining tabs.

    2. Rotate the cross bar upwards and attach the cross bar to the drive cable mechanisms retaining tabs.

  28. Transfer the seal as necessary. If damaged, install the new seal.

  29. Install the roof opening panel glass. Refer to: Roof Opening Panel Glass .
  30. Install the headliner Refer to: Headliner - Lowering .
  31. Verify the glass and sunshade are operating properly.

    • Verify no operational failures or appearance failures such as false reversal, sunshade derails/wrinkles, mechanism click.
