Driver Multi-Contour Seat Module [SCMG]: Removal
NOTE:
Driver seat SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module) shown, passenger seat SCMH (passenger multi-contour seat module) similar.

NOTE: This step is necessary only when installing a new component.NOTE: The PMI (programmable module installation) process must begin with the current SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module) or SCMH (passenger multi-contour seat module) installed. If the current SCMG (driver multi-contour seat module) or SCMH (passenger multi-contour seat module) does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the SCMG or SCMH following the on-screen instructions.
- Move the front seat to the full upward position.
- Depower the SRS. Refer to: SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING .
- Detach the electrical connector retainers and position the wiring harnesses aside.
- Detach the front set backrest cover straps and position the front seat backrest cover aside.
- Remove the front seat backrest cover pin-type retainers.

NOTE: To install, gradually alternate the left and right seat backrest cover zippers to prevent damage to the seat backrest cover.
- Unzip the front seat backrest cover zipper on each side.
- Position the front seat backrest cover upward.
- Detach the J-clips from the lumbar wire.

NOTE: Follow the color codes of the hoses and locks as indicated below. Tube colors noted are from left to right.
Remove the tie strap. Release the locking tabs and disconnect the hose and lock assemblies from the SCMG or SCMH.
- Red lock: Transparent violet- transparent black - blue - transparent red.
- Blue lock: Yellow - transparent green - red - clear.
- Remove the SCMG or SCMH.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Lift upwards on the SCMG or SCMH to release the rear locking clip.
- Rotate the SCMG or SCMH to release the side locking clips.
