Speedometer Does Not Work Properly (Commercial Van)
- Turn ignition on. Disconnect vehicle speed buffer. Connect voltmeter between Pink/Black wire and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check IGN fuse and replace if necessary. If fuse is okay, repair open in Pink/Black wire.
- Connect voltmeter between Pink/Black and Black wires of buffer connector. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Black wire between buffer connector and ground. If battery voltage is present, raise and support vehicle.
- Start engine and shift transmission into drive. Connect DVOM between Dark Green/Yellow and Light Blue wires of speed buffer connector. If AC voltage is not present, check for open in Purple/White and Light Green/Black wires.
- If wires are okay, replace speed sensor. If AC voltage is present, reconnect buffer connector. Connect DVOM between Light Blue/Black and Black wires of speed buffer connector. If AC voltage is still not present, replace speed sensor buffer.
- If AC voltage is present, repair open in Light Blue/Black wire between speed buffer and instrument cluster. If wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
