Clearing Trouble Codes

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

Diagnostic trouble codes can be cleared using DRB-II in READ DTCS option. To ensure that all trouble codes are read, it is advisable to use READ DTCS option to erase trouble codes. See DRB DIAGNOSTIC MODE under ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS.

If DRB is not available, trouble codes may also be cleared by disconnecting negative battery cable for at least 15 seconds, allowing PCM to clear trouble codes.
