Code 36 - Rear Speed Sensor Signal Missing: Notes

Code 36 is caused by a loss of Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal. Code is set if VCM loses VSS signal while vehicle speed is greater than 8 MPH for at least 5 seconds. Code 36 may be caused by a faulty VSS or fault in related circuits.
