Connect Procedure

  1. Install the 36-volt positive battery cable lead (6) to the generator battery.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the 36-volt positive battery cable lead nut (6).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

    IMPORTANT: Position the plastic nut to the negative battery cable and ensure that the nipple is inserted to the terminal prior to installing the negative cable to the generator battery, Otherwise damage to the nut may occur.
  5. Position the plastic nut (1) to the 36-volt negative battery cable lead ensuring that the nipple on the plastic nut is inserted through the hole in the terminal.
  6. Install the 36-volt negative battery cable lead and nut to the generator battery.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10.7 N.m (95 lb in).

  8. Install and close the generator battery disconnect control module cover.

  10. Install the generator battery cover bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  12. Carefully install the driver side foam insulator.
  13. Install the drive side rear compartment load floor stowage tray (4).
  14. Install and hand tighten the driver side rear compartment load floor stowage tray retainers (3).
  15. Install the rear compartment closeout panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Closeout Panel Replacement .
  16. Connect the 12-volt negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.2L (L61) and 3.5L (L66)) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.4L (LAT)) .
