Installation Procedure

  1. Install the backing plate with the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (FWD) or Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (AWD) in Rear Suspension.
  2. Fig 1: Removing/Installing Park Brake Cable And Backing Plate

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the park brake cable (1) and the bolt to the backing plate.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N.m (69.04 lb in).

  4. Install the park brake shoes and the hardware. Refer to Park Brake Shoe Replacement in Park Brake.
