Installation Procedure

  1. If the caliper piston (13) is not compressed into the caliper bore, complete the following steps:
    1. Wrap the handle of a hammer with tape.
    2. Use the handle of a hammer in order to compress the caliper piston into the caliper bore.
  2. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the slide pins (2,9) and to the slide pin boots (3,6,7).
  3. Install the slide pins and the slide pin boots to the caliper housing.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the caliper (10) and the caliper bolts (1,8).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 46.6 N.m (34.37 lb ft).

  5. Remove the wire from the caliper.

  6. Apply disc brake grease to the pad side of the inner pad insulator (1).
  7. Apply disc brake grease to the pad side of the outer pad insulator (4).
  8. Install the following components. Refer to Brake Pads Replacement - Rear .
    • The clip (8)
    • The springs (7,9)
    • The pad guide pins (5,6)
    • The brake pads (2,3)
    • The insulators (1,4)
