Checking Fluid Levels

  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. Remove transfer case shield. See TRANSFER CASE SHIELD .
  3. Remove transfer case fill plug. See Fig 1.
  4. Make sure transfer case fluid is filled up to the bottom of the fill plug.
  5. Fill transfer case with appropriate fluid, if necessary. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS .
  6. Install the transfer case fill plug. Tighten fill plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install transfer case shield. See TRANSFER CASE SHIELD .
  8. Lower vehicle.
