Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Pontiac G6. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the sunroof window seal to the sunroof module. Refer to Sunroof Window Seal Replacement (C3Y)  or Sunroof Window Seal Replacement (CF5) .
  2. Install the sunroof sunshade motor. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Motor/Actuator Replacement .
  3. Install the sunroof module motor. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement (C3Y)  or Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement (CF5) .
  4. Load the sunroof module down through the roof opening.

    Install the sunroof in the opening.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
    IMPORTANT: Do NOT remove the four corner screws until last. Do NOT remove the nut just the TORX™ bit screws (1), the nut is used for height adjustment.
  5. Install the corner screws (2), with the aid of an assistant.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the bolts (1) that secure the sunroof module to the roof ring.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connectors to the motors, cycle the sunshade to fully closed position.

    IMPORTANT: The shade must be closed to expose the bolts (1) holes.
  8. Install the bolts (2) in the rear of the sunroof module first, then install bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  9. Connect the front and rear sunroof drain hoses from the drain spigot located in each corner.
  10. Install the sunshade.
  11. Raise and install the headliner
  12. Install the sunroof finishing lace. Refer to Sunroof Finishing Lace Replacement (C3Y)  or Sunroof Finishing Lace Replacement (CF5) .
  13. Cycle the sunroof window to the fully vent position.
  14. Install the front sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement - Front .
  15. Install the 2nd or 3rd sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement - Middle .
  16. Install the rear sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement - Rear .
  17. Sunroof module adjustment. Refer to Sunroof Module Adjustment .
  18. Perform the Initialization/Teach procedure. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (Existing Motor)  or Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (New Motor)  or Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (Panoramic) .
  19. Inspect the sunroof for proper operation.
  20. Close the sunshade.
