ECM Replacement
If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:
- ECM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
- Crankshaft Position (CKP) Variation Learn-Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn , for the V6, Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn , for the V8, or Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn for the Hybrid.
- Theft Deterrent Programming-Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup .
- Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn-Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Learn .
- Fuel Composition Diagnostic-Refer to Fuel Composition Diagnosis for the 5.3L (LMG or LC9).
- Throttle Learn procedure-Refer to Q38 Throttle Body: Throttle/Idle Learn , for the V6, Q38 Throttle Body: Throttle/Idle Learn , for the V8, or Q38 Throttle Body: Throttle/Idle Learn for the Hybrid.
- Engine Oil Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Engine Oil Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
- Transmission Fluid Life Remaining-When available, use a scan tool to reset the Transmission Fluid Life Remaining back to the original percentage recorded before the module was replaced.
