Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the battery positive cable retainer (2) to the front engine block and tighten the fastener (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  2. Install the battery positive cable (1) to the junction block stud and tighten the fastener (2) to 13 N.m (115 lb in).
  3. Install the junction block cover (3).

  4. Route the battery positive cable (1) to the fuse block stud and tighten the fastener (2) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  5. Close the fuse block cover (3).
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  7. Install the battery positive cable (2) to the generator stud and tighten the fastener (1) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  8. Slide the protective boot (3) onto the generator stud.

  9. Install the battery positive cable (3) to the starter solenoid (2) and tighten the fastener (1) to 13 N.m (115 lb in).
  10. Install the steering gear skid shield. Refer to Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement .
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
