Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Remove the engine wiring harness block cover. Refer to Engine Wiring Harness Fuse Block Cover Replacement

  4. Push the upper latch to the right (arrow, insert is opposite) and lift the 2 tab on the cover (1) upward and remove cover.

  5. Remove the starter generator cable nut (1) and remove the starter generator cable (2) from the block.

  6. Loosen the fuse block bolts (1), the bolts may not be removable from fuse block.

  7. Release the 6 retainer tabs (1) from the fuse block (2).

  8. Pull the fuse block (2) up with a light shaking motion, far enough to expose the cable nut (1) and cable from the battery. Remove the nut (1) and set aside the cable. Remove the engine wiring harness junction block.
