Installation Procedure

  1. Position the steering column (1) in the vehicle.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install Steering Column Nut (1) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  5. Install Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) @Steering Column Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement 
  6. Connect the steering column electrical connectors.

  11. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
  12. NOTE:

    In order to relearn the steering column soft and hard stops, the steering column MUST be mounted and fastened and the steering column upper and lower trim covers CANNOT be installed.

  13. Before the steering column upper and lower trim covers are installed, relearn the soft and hard stops. Steering Column Tilt Wheel and Telescope Control Module Learn

  15. Install Steering Column Lower Trim Cover (1) Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement (RPO N38) 
  16. Center the steering angle sensor. Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering
