Installation Procedure

  1. GM4286408

    Battery Positive Cable (4) - Install (Qty: 3)

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  2. Battery Positive Cable Nut (2) - Install and tighten (Qty: 2) 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  3. Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) - Install and tighten 12 N.m (106 lb in)
  4. Battery Positive Cable Retainer (3) - Engage
  5. GM4285233

    Close the battery fuse block cover. (2)

  6. Battery Distribution Fuse Block Retaining Tab (1) - Engage
  7. GM4286412

    Battery Positive Cable Retainer (1) - Engage (Qty: 2)

  8. GM4286415

    Battery Positive Cable (3) - Install

  9. Generator Positive Cable Fastener (1) - Install and tighten 15 N.m (11 lb ft)
  10. Protective Cap (2) - Install
  11. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Battery Positive Cable (2) - Install

  13. Starter Solenoid Cable Nut (1) - Install and tighten 12.5 N.m (111 lb in)
  14. Battery Positive Cable Conduit Fastener (3) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  15. GM4286549

    Starter Heat Shield (2) - Install - Starter Shield Replacement (LGX) 

  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)
