Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)

    Battery Distribution Fuse Block Retaining Tab (1) - Disengage

  3. Open the battery fuse block cover. (2)

    Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (4) - Loosen

  5. Battery Distribution Fuse Block Retaining Tab (1) - Disengage (Qty: 2)
  6. Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block (5) - Reposition away

    Battery Hold Down Retainer Nut (1) - Remove

  8. Remove the engine control module bracket. Engine Control Module Bracket Replacement
  9. Battery Hold Down Retainer Bolt (2) - Remove
  10. Battery Hold Down Retainer (3) - Remove
  11. GM4285236

    Battery Hold Down Bolt (1) - Remove

  12. Battery Hold Down Retainer (2) - Remove
  13. Battery (3) - Remove
