Installation Procedure

  1. GM4285236

    Battery (3) - Install

  2. Battery Hold Down Retainer (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  3. Battery Hold Down Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

    Battery Hold Down Retainer (4) - Install

  5. Install the engine control module bracket along with the engine control module to the battery tray. Engine Control Module Bracket Replacement
  6. Battery Hold Down Retainer Nut (1) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  7. Battery Hold Down Retainer Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  8. Retainer (3) - Engage

    Battery Distribution Fuse Block Retaining Tab (1) - Engage (Qty: 2)

  10. Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (4) - Tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)
  11. GM4285233

    Close the battery fuse block cover. (2)

  12. Battery Distribution Fuse Block Retaining Tab (1) - Engage
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)
