Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Diesel/Gasoline Vapors Warning .

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Draining 
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Remove Exhaust Muffler Assembly - Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LTG, LYX)
  5. Remove Underbody Rear Air Deflector - Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)
    6. Fig 1: Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Wiring Harness And Fuel Pump Fuel Feed Hose

  6. Disconnect Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Wiring Harness (1) - [2x]
  7. Remove Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Wiring Harness (1) @Retainer - [2x]
  8. Disconnect Fuel Pump Fuel Feed Hose (3) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  9. Disconnect Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Hose (4) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  10. Disconnect Fuel Tank Vent Hose (4) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  11. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (2)
  12. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose (3)

  13. Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.
  14. Remove Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (1)
  15. Remove Fuel Tank Strap (2)

  16. Remove Fuel Tank (1) -
  17. If replacing fuel tank transfer parts as necessary.
