Preliminary Procedures Remove the front side door latch and front side door outside handle bracket as one from the door. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement . Remove the front side door lock cylinder rod from the front side door lock cylinder. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Rod Replacement . NOTE: When performing this procedure, the front side door latch and handle bracket Must be removed from the vehicle to replace the door lock cylinder.
1	Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Retainer Procedure Using the appropriate tool, remove the lock cylinder retainer from the lock cylinder and the outside handle bracket.
2	Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Procedure If replacing with a NEW lock cylinder, code the NEW lock cylinder. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Coding . Install the lock cylinder into the outside handle bracket and push the lock cylinder retainer into place. NOTE: Ensure that the door lock cylinder is properly engaged into the outside door handle. Insert the key into the door lock cylinder, turn left to right checking for binding before installing the assembly to the vehicle.

Procedure
Using the appropriate tool, remove the lock cylinder retainer from the lock cylinder and the outside handle bracket.

Procedure

If replacing with a NEW lock cylinder, code the NEW lock cylinder. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Coding .
Install the lock cylinder into the outside handle bracket and push the lock cylinder retainer into place.

NOTE:

Ensure that the door lock cylinder is properly engaged into the outside door handle.
Insert the key into the door lock cylinder, turn left to right checking for binding before installing the assembly to the vehicle.
