Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
Release the retaining tabs and remove the battery distribution engine compartment fuse block cover (1).
Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) - Remove
- Battery Negative Cable (2) - Remove
Battery Distribution Fuse Block Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
Wiring Harness Clip (1) - Remove [2x]
- Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block (2) - Reposition
Disconnect the electrical connectors and release the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
- Engine Control Module (1) - Remove
- Transmission Control Module (2) - Remove
Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Engine Control Module Bracket Nut (2) - Remove
Disconnect the wiring harness retainers as necessary.
- Engine Control Module Bracket (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
- The heated oxygen sensor in-line connector and louvered end MUST be kept clear of all grease, dirt, and other contaminants. Do NOT use cleaning solvents of any type. Do NOT drop or roughly handle the sensor.
- The heated oxygen sensor MAY be difficult to remove when the engine temperature is less than 48°C (120°F).
Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (1) - Remove
Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove
Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Remove
Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
- The heated oxygen sensor in-line connector and louvered end MUST be kept clear of all grease, dirt, and other contaminants. Do NOT use cleaning solvents of any type. Do NOT drop or roughly handle the sensor.
- The heated oxygen sensor MAY be difficult to remove when the engine temperature is less than 48°C (120°F).
Disconnect the electrical connector.
