Removal Procedure

  1. Before removing the old control module, perform the SPS function Prepare Control Module for Removal, if available. Control Module References
  2. Drain the drive motor battery cooling system. Drive Motor Battery Cooling System Draining and Filling
  3. Disable the high voltage system. High Voltage Disabling

    Remove any wiring harness retainers as necessary.

  5. Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt (1) - Remove [12x]

    Front Suspension Strut Housing Brace (1) - Remove

    High Voltage Battery Heater Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  8. High Voltage Battery Heater Module (2) - Reposition

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

  10. High Voltage Battery Coolant Inlet Hose (2) - Disconnect

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

  12. High Voltage Battery Coolant Pump Inlet Hose (2) - Disconnect
  13. Remove the high voltage battery coolant pump inlet hose retainer (3).

    Front Electric Drive Transmission Module Hose (1) - Disconnect [2x]

  15. Remove the front electric drive transmission module hose retainer (2).

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

  17. High Voltage Battery Coolant Cooler Outlet Hose (2) - Disconnect
  18. Remove the high voltage battery coolant cooler outlet hose retainer (3).

    Air Conditioning Evaporator Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  20. Reposition the air conditioning refrigerant heat exchanger (2) as necessary.

    High Voltage Battery Heater Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  22. Remove the engine wiring harness retainer (2).
  23. Reposition the high voltage battery heater bracket (3) and the attached cooling hoses and secure with tie straps.

    Front Electric Drive Transmission Module Cooler Coolant Hose (1) - Disconnect

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

  26. Remove the engine wiring harness retainers as necessary.
  27. Reposition the engine wiring harness as necessary.

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1) High Voltage Connectors

  29. Front Electric Drive Transmission Module Positive and Negative Cable Channel Bolt (2) - Remove [4x]
  30. Remove the front electric drive transmission module positive and negative cable retainer (3).
  31. Disconnect the electrical connector. (4) High Voltage Connectors
  32. Reposition the front electric drive transmission module positive and negative cable (5) and secure with tie straps.

    Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  34. Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cover (2) - Remove
  35. Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Cover Gasket (3) - Remove
  36. Inspect the drive motor power inverter module cover gasket (3) and replace if necessary.
