Repair Procedures: Removal

NOTE: lf replacement of the bracket of BSD unit is required, it is recommended to surely replace the defective part only with a new one, not the whole BSD unit.
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
    CAUTION: Be careful when removing the blind spot detection unit. The bracket may break off from the bumper.
  2. Remove the rear bumper.

    (Refer to Body - "REAR BUMPER COVER ")

  3. Disconnect the BSD connector (A) from the BSD unit.

  4. Remove the BSD assembly (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.

    Tightening torque:  8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)

    NOTE: Be careful not to damage the bracket when removing the BSD unit.

    Information 

    If the bracket is physically deformed or damaged, replace the extension wire or bracket.

    • Remove the bracket (A) from the BSD unit by loosening the screws.
