Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
  2. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.

    Tightening Torque: 

    107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

    NOTE: Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire.
  3. Using a hex wrench, fix the end of stabilizer link and then loosen the nut (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    98.1 ~ 117.7 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

  4. Loosen the bolt & nut (A), separate the front shock absorber assembly from the lower arm.

    Tightening Torque: 

    137.3 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)

  5. Disconnect the connector and loosen the wheel speed sensor bracket bolt to remove it. [ECS]

    Tightening Torque: 

    8.8 ~ 13.7 N.m (0.9 ~ 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 10.1 lb-ft)

  6. Loosen the wheel speed sensor bracket bolt to remove it. [HPD]

    Tightening Torque: 

    6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)

  7. Remove the split pin & castle nut.

    Tightening Torque: 

    78.5 ~ 88.3 N.m (8.0 ~ 9.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 65.1 lb-ft)

  8. Disconnect the front upper arm from the knuckle using a SST (09568-2J100).

  9. Disconnect the front strut assembly from the frame by loosening the mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    53.9 ~ 63.7 N.m (5.5 ~ 6.5 kgf.m, 39.8 ~ 47.0 lb-ft)

  10. Loosen the nuts and remove the bracket (B) from the strut assembly (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    19.6 ~ 29.4 N.m (2.0 ~ 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 21.7 lb-ft)

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  12. Check the alignment.

    (Refer to Tires/Wheels - "ALIGNMENT ")

    NOTE:
    • When moving the rear damper assembly, do not clutch the sole valve or cable.
    • Be careful not to damage the ECS damper assembly connector made of fragile plastic.
    • The damaged ECS damper cable may cause malfunction in the system. Be careful not to damage the ECS damper cable with sharp materials
