Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
CAUTION:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the console upper complete assembly (A).

  2. Disconnect the console upper cover switch connector (A).

  3. Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the floor console garnish assembly [RH] (A).

  4. Remove the console armrest service hole (A).

  5. After loosening the mounting bolts and screws, remove the console complete assembly (A).

    Tightening torque 

    Bolt: 3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb-ft)

    Nut: 2.0 - 2.9 N.m (0.2 - 0.3 kgf.m, 1.4 - 2.2 lb-ft)

  6. Disconnect the connector (A).

  7. Remove the shift lever assembly.

    (For 2.0L, refer to - "E-SHIFTER ". For 3.3L, refer to - "E-SHIFTER ".)

  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
    • Make sure the connector is connected properly.
