CAUTION:
  • Replace O-Ring (A) before reinstalling the AWD ITA (ECU).

  1. Check the connector pin for erosion.
  2. Install the new 4WD ITA (ECU) (B).
  3. Tighten the fixings to 22 Nm (2.2 kgf.m, 15.9 lb-lf).

  4. Check the connector pin for erosion.
  5. Connect vehicle wires and 4WD ITA (ECU) connector (A).
    CAUTION:
    • If the ITA is changed it should be paid attention to the position of the Dihedron (interface between actuator shaft of the ITA to the transfer case).

  6. Install the Under Cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  7. IG Key "ON" Engine OFF.
  8. To write the Transfer Case Data in new ITA, select "ECU Data Back-up & Writing" service of GDS.

  9. Write vehicle variant code: HI

  10. To perform the initial Calibration, select "T/C Clutch Calibration" service of GDS.

  11. IG Key "OFF", and wait for 10 seconds or so.
  12. IG Key "ON", engine "OFF".
  13. Check if Transfer Case Data are written correctly using "ECU Data Back-up & Writing" service of GDS.
  14. Check DTCs, for pending DTC, and if there are any pending DTCs, delete them.
  15. If there are still pending DTCs or incorrect written data, turn IG off and repeat the whole procedure from No. 5.
  16. No DTC's available and correct backup data written, service procedure is successfully done.
