Repair Procedures: Replacement
CAUTION:
- Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
CAUTION:
- When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the console upper complete assembly (A).
- Disconnect the console upper cover switch connector (A).
- Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the floor console garnish assembly [RH] (A).
- Remove the console armrest service hole (A).
- After loosening the mounting bolts and screws, remove the console complete assembly (A).
Tightening torque
Bolt: 3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb-ft)
Nut: 2.0 - 2.9 N.m (0.2 - 0.3 kgf.m, 1.4 - 2.2 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the connector (A).
- Remove the shift lever assembly.
(Refer to Automatic Transmission System - "SHIFT LEVER ")
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Information
- Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).
- Make sure the connector is connected properly.
