Repair Procedures: Removal: 2WD
- Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
- Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.
Tightening torque:
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).
- Loosen the nut (A) and then disconnect the stabilizer link from the front strut assembly.
Tightening torque:
98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)
- Remove the under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Loosen the bolts (A) and then remove the stabilizer bar.
Tightening torque:
49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)
- Loosen the bolt (A) and then separate the universal joint from the shaft joint.
Tightening torque:
32.4 - 37.3 N.m (3.3 - 3.8 kgf.m, 23.9 - 27.5 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Keep the steering wheel in a neutral position. Moving the steering wheel may damage the cable inside the clock spring.
- Tighten the steering column bolts in the same direction as they were removed.
- Do not reuse the universal joint bolt when installing.
- Disconnect the R-MDPS connector (A) and clip (B).
- Disconnect the R-MDPS wiring clip (A) from the sub frame.
- Remove the front wheel guard.
(Refer to Body - "FRONT WHEEL GUARD ")
- Remove the split pin and tie rod end ball joint nut (A).
Tightening Torques:
88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)
- Remove the tie rod end ball joint (A) from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-2J100).
- Loosen the gear box bolts (A) and then remove the gear box.
Tightening torque:
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Be careful not to damage the ECU when removing the steering gear box.
- Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector (A).
- Remove the lateral arm pin and nut (A).
Tightening Torques:
88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)
- Remove the lateral arm from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-2J100).
- Loosen the bolt & nut and then remove the tension arm from the sub frame.
Tightening torque:
156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)
- Remove the hood assembly.
(Refer to Body - "HOOD ASSEMBLY ")
- Assemble the engine support fixture on the engine room.
(Refer to Special Service Tools - "ENGINE SUPPORT FIXTURE ASSEMBLY DRAWING ")
- Disconnect the semi active engine mounting connector (A). [R 2.2]

- Loosen the engine mounting insulator nut (A).
Tightening torque:
63.7 - 83.3 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb-ft)
[THETA II 2.0 T-GDI]

[LAMBDA II 3.3 T-GDI]
- Remove the clip (A) from the sub frame.
[LAMBDA II 3.3 T-GDI]
- Loosen the bolts (A) and then remove the sub frame.
Tightening torque:
176.5 - 196.1 N.m (18.0 - 20.0 kgf.m, 130.2 - 144.7 lb-ft)
- Remove the tenstion arm (A) and lateral arm (B) after loosen the bolt & nut.
Tightening torque
Tenstion arm bolt & nut: 156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)
Lateral arm bolt & nut: 117.7 - 132.4 N.m (12.0 - 13.5 kgf.m, 86.8 - 97.6 lb-ft)
- Remove the engine bracket from the sub frame.
Tightening torque:
49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)
