Repair Procedures: Disassembly

Information
- When compressing the coil spring, be cautious as there may be corrosion due to damage to the coil spring painting.
In order to avoid such painting damage, compress by putting over the waste hose, etc. (Refer to the figure below.)
- Compress the coil spring (A) with a strut spring compressor. Do not compress the spring excessively.
- Remove the lock nut (A). Gradually turn the bolt on the spring compressor to slowly release the tension from the spring.
Then, disconnect the components.
Tightening torque:
HPD: 24.5 - 29.4 N.m (2.5 - 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 - 18.1 lb-ft)
ECS: 50.0 - 59.8 N.m (5.1 - 6.1 kgf.m, 36.9 - 44.1 lb-ft)
