  1. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
  2. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub.

    Tightening torque: 

    107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire.
  3. Loosen the nut (A) and then remove the stabilizer link from the front strut assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Using a hex wrench, fix the end of stabilizer link when loosening the nut.

    • Using SST (09568 - 2D100), remove the nut (A) from the shock absorber. [With 3.3 T-GDI]
  4. Loosen the bolt and nut, separate the front shock absorber assembly from the lower arm.

    Tightening torque: 

    137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)

  5. Loosen the mounting bolts and then remove the cable bracket from the knuckle.

    Tightening torque: 

    1. 8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)
    2. 6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)

  6. Using the special tool (09568-2J100), separate the upper arm from the knuckle.
    1. Remove the split pin (A).
    2. Remove the castle nut (B).
    3. Remove the upper arm from knuckle using the special tool (09568-2J100).

      Tightening torque: 

      78.5 - 88.3 N.m (8.0 - 9.0 kgf.m, 57.9 - 65.1 lb-ft)

  7. Remove the front strut assembly by loosening the module bracket mounting bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    53.9 - 63.7 N.m (5.5 - 6.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 47.0 lb-ft)

  8. Remove the ECS wiring bracket (A) from the module bracket assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)

  9. Disconnect the ECS connector.

    NOTE:
    • Removal of ECS connector 
      1. Separate the upper cap (A) and lower cap (C).
      2. Separate the connector (B) and shock absorber rod (D).
      3. Separate the lower cap (C) and insulator (E).

    • Precautions when installing the connector. 
      • Make sure the red marking after installing the connector is as shown in the figure below.

  10. Loosen the nuts (A) and remove the bracket from the strut assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    19.6 - 29.4 N.m (2.0 - 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 - 21.7 lb-ft)

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
