Repair Procedures: Removal
- If a compressor is available, the air conditioner is operated for a few minutes in the engine idle state and then the engine is stopped.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/charging station.
- Remove the drive belt.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "DRIVE BELT - 2.5L")
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "DRIVE BELT - 3.5L")
- Loosen the mounting nuts and separate the suction line (A), discharge line (B).
Tightening torque:
6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Plug or cap the lines immediately after disconnecting them to avoid moisture and dust contamination.
- Press the lock pin and separate the ECV connector (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the compressor assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
33.3 - 47.1 N.m (3.4 - 4.8 kgf.m, 24.6 - 34.7 lb-ft)
- Remove the compressor ground cable and then remove the compressor assembly (B) front the vehicle.
