Repair Procedures: Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
    WARNING:
    • Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.
  2. Install the knee airbag module after connect the knee airbag module connector.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  3. Install the crash pad lower panel.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "CRASH PAD LOWER PANEL ")

  4. Reconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  5. After installing the knee airbag (KAB), confirm proper system operation.
    NOTE:
    • Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
