Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.

    Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

  2. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.

    Tightening torque: 

    137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Safely remove the wheel and tire (A) using the guide bolt included in the Tire Mobility Kit (TMK).

    • Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).

  3. Remove the under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  4. Remove the snap pin and then loosen the castle nut (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

  5. Remove the lateral arm ball joint by using the SST (09568-2J100).

  6. Loosen the fork bracket mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Do not reuse the bolt and nut.

  7. Remove the lateral arm (A) after loosening the bolt and nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Do not reuse the bolt and nut.
