Repair Procedures: Removal

Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.

Tightening torque:

137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)

NOTE:

Safely remove the wheel and tire (A) using the guide bolt included in the Tire Mobility Kit (TMK).

Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).

Remove the under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
Remove the snap pin and then loosen the castle nut (A).
Tightening torque:

98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

Remove the lateral arm ball joint by using the SST (09568-2J100).

Loosen the fork bracket mounting bolt (A).
Tightening torque:

156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)
NOTE:
- Do not reuse the bolt and nut.

Remove the lateral arm (A) after loosening the bolt and nut.
Tightening torque:

156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)
