Battery Tester

Determine the performance of the battery by the voltage drop when discharging for a period of time (5 sec) with a fixed load (120A).

1. Connect the clamp at each terminal.
2. Turn ON the tester load test switch at 5 sec.
   CAUTION:

   • Be careful not to contact with the top heating unit of the load resistance of the tester.
   • Do not test the 10 sec of the not recharge battery.
3. Check the instructions for the meter for 12V and take the following actions

   CCA	Discharge Final Voltage (V)
   1000	11.2V
   800	11.0V
   600	10.7V
   400	10.4V
   200	10.0V

   1. Green: Battery condition normal.
   2. Yellow (WEAK): Battery condition is normal but need to recharge.
   3. Red (BAD): Replace battery.

   When the engine is started, the state of charge by the alternator can be checked.

   1. Connect the clamps the each battery terminal.
   2. Start engine and check the instruction of the CHARGING SYSTEM of the meter.
      1. Green: Alternator charge normal
      2. Left red: Alternator low charge, check the alternator system
      3. Right red: Alternator overcharging, check the alternator system
