Removal And Installation

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
    CAUTION:
    • When lifting a vehicle using a lift, be careful not to damage the lower parts of the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank, canister).

      (Refer to General Information - "LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ")

  2. Loosen the front wheel nuts slightly.

    Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

  3. Remove the front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")

  4. Remove the front axle.

    (Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY ")

  5. Separate the stabilizer bar from the front strut assembly after loosening the mounting nut (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

  6. Remove the engine side cover (A).

  7. Remove the LH side cover (A).

  8. Remove service cover (A).

  9. Remove the cap (B) after disconnecting the continuously variable damping control connector (A)

  10. Remove the front strut assembly after loosening the front strut upper mounting nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    53.9 - 73.5 N.m (5.5 - 7.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 54.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When tightening the front strut upper mounting nuts, tighten them in empty vehicle state.
    • Do not reuse the mounting nut.

  11. To install, reverse the removal procedures.
  12. Check the alignment.
