Repair Procedures: Removal: AWD

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Loosen the wheel bolts slightly.

    Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

  3. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.

    Tightening torque: 

    137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Safely remove the wheel and tire (A) using the centering pin included in the luggage tray.

    • Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).

  4. Disconnect the stabilizer link with the front strut assembly after loosening the nut (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When loosening the nut (A), fix the outer hexagon of stabilizer bar link.
    • Be careful not to damage the stabilizer link boots.

  5. Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and then remove the front wheel speed sensor cable bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

  6. Loosen the G-sensor bracket mounting bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

  7. Loosen the bolt and nut (A) and then disconnect the lateral arm from the fork bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb-ft)

  8. Loosen the bolt and nut and then remove the fork bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    78.5 - 98.1 N.m (8.0 - 10.0 kgf.m, 57.9 - 72.3 lb-ft)

  9. Remove the engine room cover (A).

  12. Remove the continuously variable damping control connector and cap.[ECS type] 
    1. Remove the service cover (A).

    2. Disconnect the continuously variable damping control connector (A) and then remove the cap (B).

  13. Loosen front strut upper mounting nut (A) and then remove the front strut assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    53.9 - 73.5 N.m (5.5 - 7.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 54.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When tightening the front strut upper mounting nuts, tighten them in empty vehicle state.
    • Do not reuse the mounting nut.
