Repair Procedures: Inspection
- Check the engine oil quality.
Check the engine oil for discoloration, water intrusion, viscosity drop, etc. If the oil quality is noticeably poor, change oil.
- Check the engine oil level. Warm up and stop the engine, and then wait for 10 minutes before checking whether the oil level is between the "F" and "L" marks in the dipstick. If the level is lower than "L", check for leakage and add oil up to the "F" mark.NOTE:
- Do not fill engine oil above the "F" mark.
Selection of Engine Oil
Specification: SAE 0W-30, API SN PLUS/SP or ILSAC GF-6
Allowed oil SAE viscosity: Refer to recommended SAE viscosity number
NOTE: For best performance and maximum protection of all types of operation, select only those lubricants which:- Satisfy the requirement of the API or ILSAC classification.
- Must have proper SAE grade number for expected ambient temperature range.
- Lubricants that do not have both an SAE grade number and API or ILSAC service classification on the container should not be used.
