Removal And Installation
NOTE:
- Set up the transmission jack in order to remove or install it in no-load condition.
- Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.CAUTION:
- When lifting a vehicle using a lift, be careful not to damage the lower parts of the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank, canister).
(Refer to General Information - "LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ") - Loosen the front wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
- Remove the front wheel and tire.
(Refer to Suspension System - "WHEEL ")
- Remove the front axle.
(Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY ")
- Separate the stabilizer bar from the front strut assembly after loosening the mounting nut (A).
Tightening torque:
98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)
- Remove the engine side cover (A).
- Remove the LH side cover (A).
- Remove service cover (A).
- Remove the cap (B) after disconnecting the continuously variable damping control connector (A)
- Remove the front strut assembly after loosening the front strut upper mounting nuts (A).
Tightening torque:
53.9 - 73.5 N.m (5.5 - 7.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 54.2 lb-ft)
NOTE:- When tightening the front strut upper mounting nuts, tighten them in empty vehicle state.
- Do not reuse the mounting nut.
- To install, reverse the removal procedures.NOTE:
- Set up the transmission jack in order to remove or install it in no-load condition.
- Check the alignment.
