Temperature Control Lever

This lever controls the temperature of air discharged from the heater system. When the temperature control lever is in the cool position, the air mix door closes and blocks the flow of air to the heater core. When the temperature control lever is in the hot position, the air mix door is open and allows air to pass through the heater core and heat the passenger compartment.

Placing the lever in intermediate positions (between cool and hot), varies the amount of air passing through the heater core, which in turn permits temperature control.
