Temperature Control Lever

The temperature lever controls the position of the blend-air door. Depending on the selected lever position, air flow is directed through the heater core (hot position), around the heater core (cold position), or both through and around the heater core, resulting in modulated temperatures between full hot and full cold.

This lever also controls opening and closing of the water valve. The water valve is open in any position except cold, allowing engine coolant to enter the heater core.
