Front Wiper Motor

  1. Unplug wiper motor connector. Using 12-volt battery and jumper leads, check motor speed operation and automatic park cycle. Connect positive battery lead to terminal No. 6 of front wiper motor connector. See Fig 1 . Connect negative battery lead to terminal No. 1 of front wiper motor connector. Motor should operate at high speed.

  2. Leave positive battery lead connected to terminal No. 6. Reconnect negative battery lead to terminal No. 2. Motor should operate at low speed.
  3. To test automatic park cycle, use another jumper wire to connect terminal No. 4 to battery ground. With wiper motor operating at low speed, remove battery ground connection of jumper wire that is connected to terminal No. 2. Remove connection when wipers are in an upward sweep position. Wipers should stop when jumper wire is removed from battery ground.
  4. Reconnect loose end of jumper wire to terminal No. 5. This completes ground circuit from terminal No. 2, through terminal No. 5, to ground through wiper motor internal park switch. Wiper arm should now move to park position and stop. If in any step wiper motor does not operate as described, replace motor assembly.
