Ignition Switch/Steering Lock: Removal
- Manufacturer's procedure is with steering column removed for steering lock service. Disable SIR system. Remove steering column. See STEERING COLUMN .
- Using center punch, punch center of steering lock shear bolts. Drill hole in shear bolts, and remove bolts using screw extractor. Remove steering lock assembly.
- If removing lock cylinder from housing, place ignition switch in ACC position. Using a pin punch depress release pin on top of steering lock housing. Remove lock cylinder.
