Sir Coil: Installation

Ensure front wheels are facing straight ahead. Inspect SIR coil assembly to ensure it is centered. If NEUTRAL mark and alignment mark on SIR coil align, SIR coil may be installed in this position. See Fig 1 .
If R1 mark is close to alignment mark, coil is uncentered one turn to the right and needs to be adjusted one turn counterclockwise. R2 mark means coil is off 2 turns to the right. L1 mark means coil is uncentered one turn to the left and needs to be adjusted one turn clockwise before installation.
To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE . Activate SIR system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
