Throttle Opener
- Ensure transmission is in Park (A/T) or Neutral (M/T) and parking brake is applied. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Ensure all accessories are off.
- Accelerate engine so engine speed exceeds 1500 RPM, then allow to idle. Connect scan tester to duty check data link connector. Disconnect throttle opener vacuum hose from throttle opener, and plug hose. Engine speed should increase to 2100-2300 RPM.
- If engine speed requires adjustment, turn throttle opener adjusting screw inward to increase or outward to decrease. See Fig 1
. Reconnect throttle opener vacuum hose to throttle opener, and disconnect scan tester.
