Washer Pump Does Not Operate

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a test light, probe Blue wire at washer pump connector. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in Blue wire between junction block No. 1 connector C2 (located behind left kick panel) and windshield washer pump motor (located at left front of engine compartment, under washer reservoir). See Fig 1 . Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace junction block No. 1.

  2. Connect fused jumper wire from Blue/Yellow wire at combination switch to ground. If pump operates, go to next step. If pump does not operate, check for open in Blue/Yellow wire between washer pump and combination switch. If wire is okay, replace windshield washer pump.
  3. Connect a test light between the White/Black wire at junction connector No. 1 ( located under center of instrument panel) and battery voltage. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, check for open in White/Black wire between junction connector No. 1 and ground. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace junction connector No. 1.
  4. Check for open in White/Black wire between combination switch and junction connector No. 1. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace combination switch.
