Throttle Position (TP) Sensor: Inspection
NOTE:
Perform all testing procedures with engine at normal operating temperature.
- Insert a .14" (3.5 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stop screw and throttle lever. See Figure . If Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor plunger is contacting throttle lever screw, bring engine up to operating temperature.
- Connect scan tool to DLC and turn ignition on and engine off. Using scan tool, read TP sensor voltage. If voltage is not .98-1.02 volts, adjust or replace TP sensor. See procedure under ADJUSTMENT . If voltage is .98-1.02 volts, TP sensor is adjusted properly.
