Washer Pump Does Not Operate

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using test light, backprobe between washer pump connector terminal No. 2 (Blue wire) and ground. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, check for open in Blue wire between junction block No. 1 Black 16-pin connector terminal No. 2 and washer pump motor. See Fig 1 . See JUNCTION BLOCK 10-PIN CONNECTOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION table. If wire is okay, replace junction block No. 1. Junction block is located behind left kick panel. Washer pump motor is located under washer reservoir.
  2. Using a fused jumper wire, backprobe between washer pump side of combination switch Black 20-pin connector terminal No. 8 (Blue/Yellow wire) and ground. If washer pump operates, go to next step. If washer pump does not operate, check for open in Blue/Yellow wire between washer pump and combination switch. If wire is okay, replace washer pump.
  3. Using a test light, backprobe between junction connector No. 1 White 6-pin connector terminal No. 3 (White/Black wire) and battery voltage. Junction connector No. 1 is located under center of instrument panel. If test light illuminates, check for open in White/Black wire. If wire is okay, replace combination switch. If test light does not illuminate, check for open in White/Black wire between junction connector No. 1 and ground. If wire is okay, replace junction connector No. 1.
