DTC P1715 - PNP Switch CKT Malfunction
- Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and PCM harness connector "C", terminal No. 22 (Black/Red wire) with transmission in Park and Neutral. See Figure . If reading is zero volts in both positions, leave voltmeter connected and go to next step. If reading is not zero volt, repair open Black/Red wire. Retest system.
- Measure voltage with transmission gear selector in "R", "D", "2" and "L" positions. If reading is 10-14 volts, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article. If reading is not as specified, check transmission range switch. Repair as necessary. If transmission range switch is okay, go to next step.
- Check Black/Red wire between PCM and transmission range switch for short to ground. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
