Clutch Assembly: Installation
- Position clutch disc and pressure plate on flywheel using Clutch Centering Tool (J-34860). Clutch disc is installed with damper springs facing toward transaxle.
- Tighten pressure plate bolts alternately and evenly in a diagonal pattern to specification. Lightly lubricate release bearing sliding surfaces and input shaft with grease.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill transaxle with 75W GL-5 Fluid (12345349).
- Use clutch centering tool to center clutch disc on flywheel. If replacing pressure plate, transfer match mark from old pressure plate to new pressure plate so balance is maintained. Tighten pressure plate bolts alternately and evenly in a diagonal pattern to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Apply a small amount of grease to release fork contact surfaces, release bearing and hub. Lightly lubricate clutch disc splines using Lubricant (1051344). Ensure weight on front mount is facing transaxle. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
