Ignition Coil
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect wiring from ignition coil terminals. To check primary coil windings, connect an ohmmeter across coil terminals "A" and "D". Also check resistance across terminals "B" and "D". See Fig 1. Check that resistance is within specifications shown in IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS table.
- Set ohmmeter to x1000 range and connect ohmmeter leads to ignition coil positive terminal and coil tower terminal. See IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS table. If readings are not within specification, replace ignition coil.
